BOCA MOSQUE FEATURES REPRESENTATIVE FROM RADICAL MUSLIM CHARITY
INTERNATIONAL RELIEF ASSOCIATION HOSTED
(Coral Springs, FL) Last night, June 25TH, the Islamic Center of Boca Raton (ICBR) featured Dr. Abdel Rahim Al-Ansari as a guest speaker for its Maghrib, the obligatory Islamic prayer that is performed right after the sun sets over the horizon. This while Al-Ansari had previously sat on the Board and was a Field Representative for the radical Islamist charity, International Relief Association (IRA), which now goes under the name of Life For Relief and Development or LIFE.
In April of 1996, IRA hosted Abdulmunel Abu Zant for an "Iraq children's" fundraiser held in Brooklyn. Abu Zant, who is described as "a militant Jordanian Islamic cleric" and "an ardent supporter of HAMAS," was the self-proclaimed leader of the most radical wing of the Jordanian terror group, the Islamic Action Front (IAF).
Along with Al-Ansari, fellow IRA Board Members included Dr. Jamal Badawi and Sheikh Mohammad Al-Hanooti. Badawi, who is currently on the Board of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), wrote a book ('GENDER EQUITY IN ISLAM') justifying the Quran's call for 'wife beating' as a way to save a marriage from divorce.
Mohammad Al-Hanooti, according to a 1992 FBI memorandum, "was an active HAMAS supporter, purportedly holding fund-raising activities, as well as helping visitors to the United States from Israel and Jordan, to speak on behalf of HAMAS." And according to another FBI source, "Al-Hanooti collected over six million U.S. dollars for support of HAMAS in Israel."
Throughout the charity's existence, IRA/LIFE has continued to work with radical Islamist organizations, including the Muslim American Society (MAS), the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim Students Association (MSA) and the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC).
In February of 2002, LIFE's finances became a matter of scrutiny, during counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson's testimony before the House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Emerson's testimony was titled, 'Fund Raising Methods and Procedures for International Terrorist Organizations.'
Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH) stated, "Right
after an Al-Qaeda
terrorist is caught at ICBR, and right after its imam, Muneer Arafat,
admitted during courtroom testimony that he is affiliated
with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, ICBR continues to allow those
connected to radical Islamist groups to speak at its facilities. When
is the city of Boca Raton going to step in and shut this place down? Haven't
we seen enough to warrant its closure?"
