27, 2005 For Immediate Release Contact: Joe Kaufman (joe4rep@gate.net) ANTI-HATE GROUP CALLS FOR CITY HALL AAH SENDS LETTER TO ORLANDO CITY OFFICIALS (Coral Springs, FL) "Given CAIR's alarming past, it is our belief that the establishment of a CAIR office in the heart of Orlando could be a disaster for the city. We therefore ask that you air on the side of caution and prevent this from occurring." These were the words of Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH), in a letter he sent to the city today concerning CAIR's announcement that they wanted to create a new office in Orlando. In the letter, Kaufman discussed CAIR's connection to the terrorist organization HAMAS, and he listed the individuals related to CAIR that have been convicted and/or deported by the United States government. He showed how CAIR raised money for terror charities via its website, and he quoted CAIR's National Executive Director, Nihad Awad, as being in support of HAMAS. Kaufman stated, "We sent the letter in hopes that Orlando officials
do not ignore this potential threat to their city and take action immediately,
so that this possible threat never comes to fruition. CAIR may masquerade
as a 'civil rights organization,' but we have offered extensive evidence
showing that the opposite is true. For the sake of Orlando, and for the
sake of Florida, we pray that our voices are heard." Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: joe4rep@gate.net.
