AAH CHAIR KAUFMAN SPEAKS AT PROTEST AGAINST POMPANO MOSQUE

TELLS POMPANO COMMISSIONERS TO "RESCIND"
MOSQUE APPROVAL

(Coral Springs, FL) Last night, July 11, 2006, AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman received thunderous applause from a mainly African-American crowd, as he told City Commissioners why they should withdraw their support for a 29,000 square foot mosque to be built in the city of Pompano Beach, Florida. In his speech to the Commission, Kaufman provided examples of things the Imam of the future mosque had said on a radio show Kaufman had appeared with him on.

The following is the full transcript of Kaufman's statement he made in front of the Commission:

I am not here to demean the religion of Islam, nor am I here to denounce all Muslims.

I am here to voice my support and stand shoulder to shoulder with those that demand the Pompano Beach City Council rescind its "special exemption" for the creation of a 29,000 square foot radical mosque in the city of Pompano, in the heart of Broward County.

I was on a radio program with the Imam of this mosque, Hassan Sabri, when he stated his wishes for Allah to rid Jerusalem of all its Jews.

I was on the radio with this Imam, when he stated his belief that, in the future, there is going to be an extermination of all Jews at the hands of Muslims.

And I was on the radio with Imam Sabri, when he defended another radical Imam for being a character witness for Adham Hassoun, who is currently awaiting trial in Miami for being a fundraiser for Al-Qaeda, the organization that attacked us on 9/11.

This mosque should not exist in the city of Pompano. This mosque should not exist anywhere on American shores!

Earlier in the day, a scathing expose Kaufman had written against the mosque, entitled 'Islamist Center of South Florida,' was published as the lead article on the website of FrontPage Magazine.
