ANTI-HATE GROUP BACKS LEGISLATION TO BLOCK SALE OF AMERICAN PORTS

AAH: "STAIN" ON BUSH ADMINISTRATION

(Coral Springs, FL) Americans Against Hate (AAH), a Florida-based civil rights organization and terrorism watchdog group, is stating its support for legislation that would block the sale of 21 U.S. ports to a company operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Current bills addressing this concern have been sponsored by Florida Congressman Clay Shaw, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and others.

AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman stated, "We wholeheartedly support those representatives in our government that are willing to step in and avert this disaster in the making. The efforts of the White House to make the purchase of American ports to the UAE a reality will forever be a stain on the Bush Administration's righteous war against terrorism. We cannot comprehend how this sale could even be considered, given the terrorist ties of the UAE."

Kaufman continued, "There are those in the media that have called into question the motives of those opposing the sale. People of good will have been labeled 'anti-Arab' and 'Islamophobic.' Let me state for the record, the only ones that are practicing discrimination in this matter are the members of the UAE government that refuse to recognize the existence of the state of Israel. We should never allow any foreign entity that harbors hatred and has ties to terrorism to own any part of the United States, let alone some of the most sensitive areas to our homeland security!"
