IMAM OF 'DIRTY BOMBER' MOSQUE BLAMES 'GAY SEX' FOR TSUNAMI DISASTER
AAH CALLS ON BROWARD PUBLIC DEFENDER AND CITY COMMISSIONER TO CANCEL SUNDAY EVENT SPEECHES
(Coral Springs, FL) Americans Against Hate (AAH), a counter-terror watchdog group, is calling on Broward County Public Defender, Howard "Help Me Howard" Finkelstein, and City Commissioner of Hollywood, Sal Oliveri, to cancel their participation in an event taking place at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center, this coming Sunday, May 15th.
The event, entitled 'AMERICA & THE RIGHTS OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN G-D,' is being coordinated by Maulana Shafayat Mohamed, the religious leader of the Darul Uloom Islamic Institute. Darul Aloom, a madrasa located in Pembroke Pines, has become infamous for the amount of Al-Qaeda related terrorists that have worshiped and taken classes there, including "Dirty Bomber" Jose Padilla and FBI 'most wanted' Adnan Shukrijumah.
It has come to the attention of AAH that Durul Aloom recently placed on its website a hateful diatribe against homosexuals, Jews and Christians, entitled 'TSUNAMI - Wrath of G-d.'
The piece, which states that it was "researched by Islamic Scholar - Maulana Shafayat Mohamed," says: "The least we could do as Muslims at this time and in this case WITH THE SIN OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE WORLD - is to spread the message by ENJOINING GOOD AND FORBIDDING EVIL." And "TSUNAMI SIMILAR TO SODOM & GOMORRAH HITS GAY PARADISE."
In addition, the piece, using a quote from the Qur'an, describes Muslims as being superior to others ("the best of peoples, evolved for mankind") and states that most Jews and Christians ("People of the Book") are "perverted transgressors."
Further information about the event and the offending article about the tsunami disaster can be found at www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/590.
Joe Kaufman, the Chairman of Americans Against Hate, stated "There can be no excuse for the hateful sentiments that are found on Darul Uloom's website. We call on elected officials, Howard Finkelstein and Sal Oliveri, to withdraw from Sunday's event."
