For Immediate Release
Contact: Joe Kaufman (joe4rep@gate.net)

(Coral Springs, FL) On February 10th, Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH), sent the first of two e-mails to University of South Florida (USF) officials, asking if they were aware of the fact that a group linked to the violent Muslim Brotherhood was going to be using their facilities for its childrens' sporting event. The group is the Muslim American Society of Tampa (MAS-Tampa), and according to the group's website, USF is going to be hosting its 2006 MAS Olympics from March 11th through the 12th.

In an e-mailed response, Steven D. Prevaux, the General Counsel for USF, admitted that the group was, in fact, using the university's facilities and stated, "Having checked on this issue briefly, it appears that this event has been permitted in accord with the established University procedures for use of intramural fields."

Kaufman sent a strong letter back to USF, calling the university's decision "outrageous."

Kaufman stated, "What kind of university would allow for an outside group that is actively propagating hatred and violence to children to use its facilities? It is outrageous that you would not take the necessary action to stop this from occurring, especially given USF's embarrassing history of coordinating activities with leaders of Palestinian Islamic Jihad! To permit a group such as this to use your facilities is to give tacit approval of the group's evil designs. In the name of common decency (and the security of our nation), I ask that you reconsider and cancel this event immediately."

Americans Against Hate is awaiting a further response from the university and demands that the response is different from the last.

AAH calls on all those concerned about a publicly funded university allowing a group propagating hatred and violence to use its facilities to contact USF immediately.

The staff listing of the USF President's Office is located at the following link: http://usfweb2.usf.edu/president/staff.html. Please be polite, when addressing office staff.

Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: joe4rep@gate.net.
